This rule can apply to any single mode of transport (when used individually) or to multiple modes of transport simultaneously. "Delivered to Carrier" means the seller delivers the goods to the carrier or another person nominated by the buyer at the seller's premises or another named place. Parties are advised to specify the exact point of delivery as clearly as possible, as the risk will transfer to the buyer at that point. If the parties intend to deliver the goods at the seller's premises, the address of those premises, i.e., the named place of delivery, should be determined. On the other hand, if the parties intend to deliver the goods at another location, a different specific place of delivery should be clearly identified. FCA requires the seller, when necessary, to carry out export customs formalities. However, the seller has no obligation to carry out import customs formalities, pay any import duties, or carry out other import customs formalities. When customs formalities are required (where necessary/appropriate), the DAP rule requires the seller to carry out the export customs formalities for the goods, but the seller is under no obligation to carry out the import customs formalities, pay any import duties, or carry out any import customs formalities for the goods. If the parties wish the seller to carry out the import customs formalities, pay any import duties, and carry out any import customs formalities for the goods, the DDP rule should apply.
