Zhanjiang Port

Zhanjiang Port is located in the northeast of Leizhou Peninsula in western Guangdong, bordering the South China Sea and backed by the vast southwest region. It is one of the few natural deep-water harbors in South China. As a national first-class port and a core hub of the southwestern coastal port cluster, Zhanjiang Port boasts excellent coastline resources and deep-water channels, capable of receiving ultra-large vessels of 400,000 tons. It has become an important gateway for China to Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, and other regions. The port is geographically positioned at 21°11′N, 110°24′E. Relying on the natural barrier of the Leizhou Peninsula, the port area experiences light winds and waves, has broad waters, and remains ice- and silt-free year-round, providing excellent natural conditions for shipping.

Zhanjiang Port currently has over 40 production berths, of which deep-water berths of 10,000 tons and above account for more than 70%. It can accommodate oil tankers of up to 300,000 tons and bulk carriers of up to 200,000 tons. The port area is equipped with large container terminals, specialized bulk cargo terminals, oil and chemical terminals, and ro-ro terminals. It is outfitted with efficient handling equipment such as quay cranes, gantry cranes, and ship loaders. The annual cargo throughput exceeds 300 million tons, and the container throughput surpasses 1.2 million TEUs. Behind the port, there are extensive storage yards, warehouse areas, and port-adjacent logistics parks, providing one-stop services including bonded warehousing, distribution, and value-added processing. Additionally, Zhanjiang Port has well-established dedicated railway lines and port-access highways, achieving seamless sea-rail intermodal transport.

Zhanjiang Port has opened more than 30 container liner routes covering major trade regions such as Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Among them, Southeast Asian routes provide dense coverage connecting Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and other countries; deep-sea routes extend to the Mediterranean, West Africa, South America, and other regions. Domestic coastal routes link major ports in North, East, and South China, such as Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Leveraging the "Zhanjiang–Qinzhou–Fangcheng" Beibu Gulf branch line, Zhanjiang Port also forms a synergistic network with the Beibu Gulf port cluster, providing convenient access for goods from the southwest hinterland to reach the sea.
