Yingkou Port is located in the south of Liaoning Province, China, on the northeast coast of the Bohai Sea's Liaodong Bay. It is the second largest port in Northeast China and the most convenient sea passage for the Shenyang Economic Zone. The port backs onto the hinterland of the Northeast and is closely connected to industrial cities such as Shenyang, Anshan, and Fushun. It is only a few kilometers from downtown Yingkou, with a well-developed land transport network linked to the rest of the country via the Shenyang-Dalian Expressway, Harbin-Dalian Railway, and other main arteries. Yingkou Port is a core member of the Liaoning coastal port cluster, forming an important gateway for Northeast China's opening to the outside world together with Dalian Port, Jinzhou Port, and others. Its natural conditions are superior, with open waters in the harbor area. Although there is an ice period in winter, icebreaking operations ensure year-round navigation, making it a key hub for the import and export of goods in Northeast China.

Yingkou Port currently has multiple harbor areas, mainly including Bayuquan Harbor Area, Xianrendao Harbor Area, and Panjin Harbor Area, with Bayuquan being the core operating area. The entire port has over 70 production berths, with the largest capable of berthing 300,000 DWT vessels. The annual comprehensive throughput capacity has exceeded 200 million tons. The port area is equipped with advanced loading and unloading equipment, including large gantry cranes, portal cranes, bulk shiploaders, and container quay cranes, capable of efficiently handling bulk cargo, containers, liquid chemicals, roll-on/roll-off vehicles, and various other cargo types. The total storage yard area exceeds 6 million square meters, with modern warehousing facilities, grain silos, ore yards, and dedicated storage areas for dangerous goods. Dedicated railway lines run directly to the pier, enabling seamless sea-rail intermodal transport. Additionally, the port's informatization level continues to improve, with electronic data interchange systems and smart dispatch platforms significantly enhancing customs clearance efficiency.

Yingkou Port has opened dozens of domestic and international shipping routes covering major global ports. Domestic routes frequently connect to key national hubs such as Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, and Guangzhou, forming a rapid logistics network in the Bohai Rim and along the southeast coast. International routes provide direct services to Japan, South Korea, Russia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. In particular, through the "Liaoning-Manchuria-Europe" China-Europe Railway Express, it serves as a land-sea intermodal node linking Northeast Asia and Europe. Simultaneously, Yingkou Port is a significant grain export port in Northeast China, with bulk agricultural products such as corn and soybeans shipped southward and overseas through the port. It is also a distribution center for ores, steel, and chemicals, where large quantities of ores are imported from Australia, Brazil, etc., and steel products are exported to markets in Southeast Asia and Africa. With the construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the port's shipping network continues to expand, providing a stable sea passage for hinterland enterprises.

Yingkou Port's most prominent advantage lies in its location and service capabilities. As the second largest port in Northeast China, it is closer to the central industrial hinterland than Dalian Port, with shorter land transport distances, significantly reducing enterprise logistics costs. The port's supporting bonded logistics center, export processing zone, and cross-border e-commerce platform provide cargo owners with integrated services such as warehousing, distribution, and customs declaration. Its mature winter icebreaking technology ensures year-round, uninterrupted operation. Deep cooperation with railway departments creates a "rail-sea intermodal transport" brand, particularly suitable for bulk cargo and container transport. In recent years, the port has optimized the customs clearance environment, implementing convenience measures such as "early declaration" and "two-step declaration," reducing overall clearance time by over 30%. Furthermore, Yingkou Port possesses an extensive cargo source network in Northeast China, establishing long-term cooperation with major steel mills, grain traders, and chemical enterprises, thus forming a stable base of cargo sources.

Yingkou Port backs onto the Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt and serves as the nearest outlet to the sea for the Shenyang Economic Zone. It bears the major responsibility of transporting goods from the three northeastern provinces and eastern Inner Mongolia. Compared to Dalian Port, Yingkou Port is closer geographically to central cities such as Shenyang, Changchun, and Harbin. With Shenyang as the center, road transport to the port takes no more than two hours. A cluster of industries characterized by port-side industry, logistics and warehousing, and processing trade has formed around the port, attracting numerous enterprises. With the establishment of the Yingkou Area of the Liaoning Pilot Free Trade Zone, policy dividends are further released, continuously improving the facilitation level of cross-border trade and investment. From a development perspective, Yingkou Port is transforming from a traditional transport port into a modern comprehensive logistics hub and will continue to strengthen its status as a Northeast Asia transportation and logistics hub in the future.
